Mom Style: Fun, Festive, Holiday Outfits!

Posted on December 19, 2015December 18, 2015

For this week’s Mom Style post I’m going to share with you how I create Fun, Festive, Holiday Outfits by shopping clearance, sales, and my closet!

I REALLY get into the holiday spirit and this includes dressing in Holiday themed outfits from Thanksgiving through Christmas!  Here are some of my favorites, to give you a little inspiration =o).  All photos are by me, from my Instagram Feed.  I have the crazier themed outfits at the top and more toned down looks below.

Elffin around in this fun ensemble…. Santa tee bought at Target, two years ago in an after X-mas sale.  Green yoga skirt was a summer Target find about 4 yrs ago.  Striped tights were from Spirit Halloween store.  Ugly Christmas Sweater Earrings were made by me.  Red Cowboy Boots are from Macy’s for only $20!!! (SERIOUSLY!!!).  The scarf (hand me down) reminded me of Christmas Lights, so around my neck it goes to finish off this look!

My Ugly Christmas Sweater Outfit:  Graphic Tee from Walmart, a year ago.  Cardigan was from Macy’s, bought on sale about 4 years ago.  My go-to Levi’s Skinny Jeans.  Socks were from Target, two years ago.  Combat boots, Target, from 2004.

Oh, Deer!!!  I really love this new Deer Silhouette shirt, found at Walmart last week (not available online from what I could see in a search)!  It was a 3 piece set with a red cardigan and patterned infinity scarf.  I only wanted the shirt so I swapped out the cardi and scarf for my own, and handed the others down to Rosemary (11).  Fringed Cardigan sweater was from Macy’s, several years ago.  Faux Fur scarf I found on clearance at Target, last January.  My go-to Levi’s skinny jeans, and my new red cowboy boots (linked above) are from Macy’s!  Leopard Santa Hat was thrown in for a Style Challenge on Instagram, I found it at Safeway (local grocery chain) a few years ago.

The perfect mix of Comfort and Joy!  This was my favorite Holiday Outfit this year and I wore it Holiday Shopping in a major rain storm!  Red cardigan and white peasant top (on clearance) were both from Macy’s, this past October. Black leggings were wet weather friendly running capris from Target, bought on clearance last Jan.   Socks were from Target, two years ago.  Earrings made by me.  EMU Stinger Hi boots in Black.

Berry Merry!  I’ve shown this berry-burgundy with gold thread dress from Macy’s in a post before!  Here it is restyled for the Holidays with a matching infinity scarf (no idea where I found it but it has lived in my closet for many-many years).  I’m wearing it over my all time favorite HUE Leggings from Nordstrom (The only full priced item on this post and it was SO worth the price, best leggings ever!).  Tall black boots from Macy’s, a few years ago.  Star earrings by me.  Grey Skies courtesy of Portland Decembers and placed here to fulfill Grey in a style challenge.

Feeling very Holly and Jolly wearing this Red sweater found at Ross in 1999.  I’m wearing it over a basic white tank.  The white, faux fur infinity scarf was a hand me down but I saw them at Target when I got my beige one (posted above) on clearance last Jan.  Earrings by me, inspired by Pinterest.  Go-to Levi’s skinny jeans, and my Target combat boots from 2004.

Festive Plaid!  I love this red corduroy shirt dress that I bought from a Newport News catalog back in 1998.  I really miss that catalog!  I’m accessorizing with my beloved blanket scarf from Target (only available in stores right now), HUE black leggings and tall black boots.

This is a look that I had a lot of fun wearing!  Cranberry-sparkly sweater was found on sale at Macy’s, over a year ago.  I’ve paired it with a pair of skinny, green camo pants from Walmart, bought over a year ago, and my faux fur infinity scarf from Target.  Boots are Emu Stinger Hi in Chestnut.  My style challenge was to combine faux fur, camo and sparkles!  And I happily did! =o)

Holiday Neutrals!  Here we have my chunky fisherman’s knit sweater from the Gap, circa 1980’s, handed down to me by my MIL (I’ve shown this sweater before styled with a blanket scarf).  I did the very popular partial tuck in front, leaving the rest loose.  I’ve never tried that with a sweater before and I liked it!  I styled it with my infinity fur scarf for a contrast in texture.  Belt was from Target, several years ago.  Tall brown Riding Boots were from Macy’s, several years ago.  Levi’s Skinnies.  Beaded jewelry was made by me.  Gold Coin bracelet is actually a necklace, handed down to me by my mom, and I remember her wearing that all through my childhood.  I think it’s Monet.

Jolly up the Basics!  I took my basic black, jersey knit dress found at Old Navy, 3 summers ago, added a denim jacket and my blanket scarf.  I’m wearing it over my HUE black leggings and knee high reindeer socks for warmth.  Because I was participating in a style challenge I also needed to add candy cane stripes (scarf from Dollar Tree, 2 years ago) and faux fur (trim on my new jacket).  Black cowboy boots are from Target, a few years ago, no longer available.  Red purse was found on clearance at a no longer in existence Fashion Bug, in 2005.

Evergreen, in this cowl neck sweater from Ross, bought 3 years ago.  I’m wearing it with my go-to Levi’s skinny jeans and my EMU Stinger Hi boots in chestnut.  Tree earrings were made by me.  Candy Cane Stripes (PJ’s) and flower tattoo were thrown in for a style challenge combining stripes and flowers.

And there you have it, my Holiday Style for 2015!  I only have one outfit left to share and I won’t be wearing it until this weekend when we go the The Symphony for a Holiday concert!  I will post pics next week!

I wish you all a fabulous week and I hope you are enjoying all the festivities of this Holiday Season!
